The mission of the Watertown Humane Society is to provide for the lost, homeless, neglected and abused animals of the City of Watertown and surrounding communities it contracts with, and to educate and enlighten the public regarding animal welfare. Established in 1976. The shelter started in 1976. Although, we are a small shelter it has grown over the years and so have our intake and adoption numbers. We now are rescuing dogs from the south that are set to be euthanized and giving them a second chance at finding a forever home.
