Originally known as Osprey Metals, the company was acquired by Sandvik AB of Sweden in 1984. Sandvik Osprey Ltd has become a major supplier of fine gas-atomized powders and the Company has enjoyed success in the fields of powder metallurgy and advanced materials. Sandvik Osprey has 2 main products; Metal Powders and Controlled Expansion Alloys. Fine gas-atomized metal powder products are used in a number of applications such as MIM (metal injection moulding) part manufacture, and now also increasingly in additive manufacturing/3-D printing amongst other things.
