What does Demireller madencilik do?

Demireller Mining Inc. has been founded in 2001 as the first mining company of the group. Starting from 2001, Demireller made significant contributions to the economy of the region and Turkey with other group companies as well in mining. Main activies of the group companies are in bauxite, in iron ore(magnetite) and in magnesite. Some of group companies are among the sector leaders. Group companies operate at mining sites and processing plants in several locations of Turkey with more than 200 employees. Mining activities started with the bauxite mine located in Mersin and Karaman provinces in 2001. Then new bauxite mine sites were acquired in Muğla and Eskişehir. Improvements in quality and capacity leaded more customers/countries for the group. Demireller Mining group expanded its mining activities to magnesite in 2011. The high quality magnesite are produced in Mut/Mersin as raw material needs of calcined magnesite (CCM); and sinter magnesite (dead-burnt-magnesite (DBM)) plants in Turkey and abroad. Activities in iron ore (magnetite) has been started in 2012. Current total capacity is around 120.000 tpa and it is gradually increasing. Different quality magnetite concentrates are produced in three different beneficiation plants located in Kahramanmaraş, Malatya and Elazığ. In addition to mining activities, partnerships have been established to provide contracting services for cement factories.
