Carolina Raptor Center is a 3/4 mile Raptor Trail featuring over 25 species of native and exotic birds. Weekends at the Edna S. Moretti Environmental Education Center offer special programming including Meet the Raptors presentations, Behind the Scenes in our Raptor Medical Center and other hands on science programs. Special exhibits include our Eagle Aviary -- home to our nesting pair of American Bald Eagles, Savannah and Derek, Vulture Culture -- a tribute to all things Vulture, and the Owl Forest -- a nature notebook of owl observations. Our summer flight show, Talons: Birds of the World, features native and exotic species in free flight and is offered from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.The Jim Arthur Raptor Medical Center treats over 1,000 birds a year, releasing approximately 70 percent of those that live through the first 24 hours back into the wild. Tours of the Medical Center are available during the first full weekend of each month and are limited to 12 visitors.
