Formally established in 1989 as a local chapter of the International American Marketing Association, AMASNE is a Rhode Island-based professional organization, driven by volunteers who are dedicated to advancing the practice of marketing and facilitating new opportunities for local marketing practitioners, students and educators. Our core mission is to be the premiere resource for advancing the practice of marketing and careers of marketing professionals in Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts. The roots of the AMA can be traced to the early 1900's when the National Association of Teachers of Advertisers and American Marketing Society, comprised of marketers and marketing researchers, merged to bring together marketers, across all specialties to collaborate and inspire one another.
