What does Amalgamated dairies do?

Amalgamated Dairies Limited (ADL) is one of only a handful of Canadian Dairy operations that manages and controls the milk picked up at the farm level and transports the milk to be processed, packaged, stored and distributed. ADL is owned by 220 Island Dairy producers who in turn supply the Co-op with its milk. ADL operates a cheese plant in Summerside PEI where 70% of the Island s milk is processed. The ADL cheese plant manufactures over 25 different varieties of cheese and cheddar products. The main lines are cheddar and cheddar type cheese production, and we do offer co-pack arrangements for local and national food distributors and retailers. We are also the largest cheese manufacturer and the most diverse dairy in Atlantic Canada. Our products includes; Cheddar Cheese, Specialty Cheese, Butter, Milk, Ice Cream, Evaporated Milk and Sweetened Condensed Milk. The Cheese, Evaporated Milk and Sweetened Condensed Milk plants are a modern federally inspected facilities; HACCP and British Retail Consortium (BRC) certified and can produce kosher products. ADL currently provides private label packaging opportunities to a wide range of customers.
